Avid Systems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Researcher to lead and execute complex economic research efforts supporting the implementation and advancement of Paid Family Leave (PFL) initiatives. This role is ideal for candidates with deep expertise in economic modeling and policy analysis, and a passion for shaping equitable social programs through data-driven insight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of economic research studies to interpret and solve complex problems related to Paid Family Leave and workforce participation.
  • Conduct economic modeling, cost-benefit analyses, and financial forecasting to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop innovative methodologies for collecting and analyzing data using econometric and statistical techniques.
  • Identify and integrate diverse data sources to support robust findings.
  • Generate actionable insights and formulate policy recommendations, plans, or guidance to support PFL program development and dissemination.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving labor market trends and claimant behavior, proposing adaptive solutions based on emerging insights.
  • Present technical material and findings in a manner accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Economics required, with a focus on labor economics, public finance, or a related field.
  • Significant experience conducting and managing social program-related research, including major projects at the state or federal level.
  • Expertise in theoretical and applied econometrics, sampling methods, and economic policy evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex quantitative information into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proven excellence in technical writing, data visualization, and oral presentation skills.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience supporting Paid Family Leave programs or other income-replacement/social insurance policies.
