Job description
Avid Systems is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to support the financial oversight of Paid Family Leave (PFL) program implementation. The ideal candidate will evaluate financial reports, reconcile ledgers, and conduct audits to ensure the financial health, compliance, and solvency of the PFL accounts and associated implementation funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead evaluations of financial statements, reports, and budgetary data related to the PFL program.
- Reconcile financial data, ledgers, and accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct internal audits to assess financial performance and compliance with applicable standards.
- Monitor fund solvency and provide financial insight to support operational decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and government financial reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, with demonstrated expertise in:
- Analyzing complex financial data
- Reconciling ledgers and preparing financial reports
- Conducting audits for public programs or large-scale initiatives
- Graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business is required; Ph.D. preferred
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and government accounting standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience working with state or federal financial systems is a plus.
